Wat is this product?

CO2 is one of the most important, if not the most important, nutrient for your plants. Especially if you use very strong lighting, it is best to add CO2. If you don’t, you run the risk of getting thread algae or beard algae, which of course is something you do not want.

This aquarium CO2 pressure regulator fits all refillable CO2 cylinders so that you can efficiently add CO2 to your tank.

Reliable and safe pressure regulator

The CO2 pressure regulator is made of high quality aluminum which makes it nice and strong but also lightweight. The internal spring has also been weighted, giving you a nice reliable operation of the working pressure.

In addition, this CO2 pressure regulator with solenoid valve is also equipped with an internal stability system. This prevents very strong & sudden increases in operating pressure which could kill your fish, e.g. when your CO2 bottle runs empty (the famous “end-of-tank-dump”). The pressure regulator will “unload” the CO2 in time, preventing it from entering your tank.

Finally, it is also equipped with a heavy steel pressure relief valve for added safety. You can easily set this pressure regulator up to 5 bar working pressure. Not only can you connect a diffuser or reactor to this CO2 regulator, any type of atomizer fits perfectly too!

Easy and precise adjustment

This aquarium pressure regulator is already fully equipped with a super quality needle valve. It is very precise and can also be fitted with the PlantedBox bubble counter which you can mount directly on the needle valve. This way, you can quickly set the number of bubbles of CO2.

In addition, the needle valve can be turned 90° to each side and is equipped with a large valve for easy manipulation. Because of its accuracy, you can use it for both nano aquariums and large tanks! The working pressure of your pressure regulator can also be adjusted very easily. Just turn the main valve to set the desired pressure (in bar).

PS: you also get a very clear quick start guide that explains step by step how to install and set everything up.

Free e-book to perfectly tune your CO2

That’s why this CO2 pressure regulator comes with an exclusive 45 (!) page e-book via email which teaches you how to adjust your CO2 perfectly, with all the necessary tips and tricks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will this pressure regulator fit my refillable CO2 cylinder?

If you bought your refillable CO2 cylinder in Europe, it will have a European connection (W21.8) and it will fit perfectly on the PlantedBox pressure regulator.

Does it also fit disposable cylinders?

No, this pressure regulator only works with refillable CO2 cylinders. These bottles are also a better investment in the long run.

How should I install it?

Inside the box of your CO2 pressure regulator, you’ll find a super clear quick start guide that explains in words and pictures how to install your pressure regulator.

Do I need to mount the solenoid valve separately?

No, the solenoid valve is already pre-mounted directly on the pressure regulator. So you don’t have to do anything more for this except plug in the power cord.

Do I need a timer?

To always open or close your CO2 at the same time, I would indeed recommend putting your solenoid valve on a timer. These only cost a few euros at the DIY store.

How often should I replace the gasket?

The gaskets are industrial quality and can take a beating, but I still recommend replacing it when you replace the CO2 bottle. You can order a set of gaskets here.

Does the pressure regulator also work with a pH controller?

Yes, it works just fine. Only the Milwaukee MC122 does not work with this pressure regulator because it is not compatible with 12V solenoid valves.

Does the solenoid valve operate on 12V or 220V?

The solenoid valve operates on 12V. The advantage of this is that it does not hum, it does not heat up as much (= longer life span) and it is of course safer.

How much working pressure should I set this pressure regulator to?

For atomizers & diffusers, 1.5 to 2 bar is sufficient. If you are using a CO2 reactor, 1 bar may already be sufficient. The max. number of bar the pressure regulator can handle is 5.

How many years of warranty does this unit have?

The warranty is three years on the pressure regulator and 2 years on the solenoid valve.

What is this stability system?

This CO2 pressure regulator is equipped with a stability system that prevents an “end-of-tank dump.” This dump can occur when your CO2 bottle empties and the pressure from the CO2 bottle temporarily rises very sharply just before the bottle empties completely. This can have fatal consequences for your fish and shrimp.

The stability system prevents the pressure from suddenly rising very sharply and thus protects the animals in your aquarium.
