A check valve is a must for any aquarium equipped with a CO2 kit. Why? If you stop adding CO2 to your aquarium, the water from your aquarium will slowly drain back to your CO2 pressure regulator through the CO2 hose. And that can cause damage to your CO2 system.
This is why you should always install a check valve! It’s actually very simple: it stops the water from damaging your system. And that is what this model does perfectly.
For your check valve to work properly, you have to mount it in the right direction of course, otherwise you will block the CO2 instead of the water. Sounds logical, but it has happened to me before 😉
This check valve has a clear directional arrow on its side indicating the correct direction of flow. You then just have to install it on your CO2 hose and you’re done.

Each set contains 2 check valves.
Cut your CO2 hose into 2 and then slide the CO2 hose over the ends of the check valve. Optionally, you can warm the hose by putting it in hot water. Make sure the arrow on the valve points toward the aquarium.
